MAT TEACHER TRAINING ONLINE & IN PERSON

Sandrine’s Pilates is the Certifying Studio for the PhysicalMind Institute New York in Europe and has done so for the past 20 years. We offer teacher certification programmes in Pilates Matwork, Standing Pilates with Tye4 and Pilates Equipment. We do not have any bridging courses or different levels courses, you will learn all levels on all apparatus, the classical way, with modification for rehabilitation.
I purposely choose to keep the certification programmes the way it used to be taught and strongly believe that these courses are a way for these new Pilates schools to get instructors paying more money for the same certification. 

The PhysicalMind Institute New York, originally called “the Method Pilates” was created by Eve Gentry (who trained with Joseph Himself), Michele Larsson and Joan Breibart. The institute was the first to create an International Certification Programme in 1991.

On an historic note, Eve Gentry was introduced to Joe and Clara’s studio as she was having knee and back issues having been a dancer all her life. After studying with Joe, she began to teach Contrology at his studio from the late 1930s until she moved to New Mexico in 1968. In Sante Fe, New Mexico she established the Institute for the Pilates Method of Conditioning that is when PMI was created.

Mat Certification:

• Self-paced study online or 3 days intensive in-person.We will teach you how to instruct Pilates Mat classes using the original exercises developed by Joseph Pilates. We will start with the fundamental mat exercises on which all other mat and equipment exercises are based and build from there.

•  You will also learn to develop exercise prescriptions by seeing body positioning, movement misalignment and faulty posture. Learn to teach exciting, total-body floor workouts from the original Pilates Mat exercises

•  Learn biomechanics, muscle patterns and exercise principles. You will also learn to teach classic Pilates exercises and their advanced variations.

THE CERTIFICATION WILL ALLOW YOU TO:

• Induct and assess clients who are apparently healthy or requiring postural assessment.

• Prepare and instruct Pilates Matwork programme to one-on-one or small group formats.

• Lead and instruct Pilates exercises for clients with postural needs.

• Incorporate the use of small apparatus in the delivery of exercises for clients who are apparently healthy or requiring postural address.

  • All manuals and videos will be provided digitally
  • You will need to write a theory exam.
  • You will need to self practice at home and provide videos of yourself teaching anyone from your family and friends.

There are several ways to pay.

1) Pay for your course in full, £580/£880(group price) online price or £1250 one to one instruction with Sandrine

2) Pay a deposit of £300 and the balance later (before the start date).

3) Pay by instalments (3 instalments ). Final instalment needs to be paid before the start of the course. Please contact us for more information.

4) Credit card processing fees 1.4 % with non UK cards.

Tuition includes all materials, access to video and exam cost with digital certificate. Accreditation: At the end of the course, students will be assessed via video(Practical Assessment).You will also take a written theory exam.
